Lived experience is vital to the therapist-client relationship, along with trust and respect. As such, I share that I am a white, cisgendered, able-bodied, heterosexual, midfat, recovered female dieter committed to advocacy and allyship. I believe strongly in starting the therapeutic relationship grounded in authenticity.
I find value in both formal and informal education. I attended the University of Southern California for my Psychology and Sociology undergraduate studies. After a two-year jaunt east to study Criminal Justice at East Carolina University, I completed my formal education at the University of La Verne in the Clinical-Community Psychology doctorate program. I have been licensed (Oregon #2345) and providing therapy for over 10 years.
Curiosity is what fuels me; there is not a person, place or thing that I can’t learn something from. I read voraciously, laugh wholeheartedly and value my friends, family and pets.
